About me
I am a Dutch portrait photographer focused on themes of identity, connection, and how people present themselves to the world. My work spans two main areas. In the studio, I create carefully considered portraits that emphasize stillness and presence, aiming to reveal the individual rather than merely performing their persona. In addition, I engage in long-term documentary projects that capture moments of transformation, ritual, and change in people's lives.
Past series include Eurodice/Jimmy, which explores drag and self-creation, and Gideon + Esther, a reflection on faith and freedom. Currently, I am developing a long-term documentary project on rainbow families, a subject that resonates deeply with me as a parent within one.
For me, photography is a way to pay attention. I seek to uncover what becomes visible when someone is framed by the camera without performing for it: hesitation, stillness, and the subtle gestures that often communicate more than mere expressions. While I prepare thoughtfully, often using mood boards as a collaborative starting point, I always leave room for spontaneity and what the moment has to offer.

In addition to my photography, I have built a long-standing career as a designer, collaborating with large and mid-sized brands on complex, people-centered projects. This background influences my approach behind the camera, bringing structure, clarity, and a deep respect for the individual in front of it.
